New Chicago Bulls wing Josh Giddey will have a slow ramp-up during training camp. Giddey revealed at Bulls media day that he was recovering from a ruptured ankle ligament while playing for Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Giddey said he was injured during Australia’s final game at the Olympics. Despite the serious nature of the injury, Chicago’s big offseason acquisition said he should be ready to play on opening night.
The Bulls acquired the 6-foot-8 playmaker in a deal that sent Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Giddey is eligible for a rookie scale contract extension this summer, but there’s been little news from the player or the Bulls on that front.
