Derik Queen will be out at least 12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.
The New Orleans Pelicans acquired the draft rights to Queen in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks on draft night in which they sent the No. 23 pick and the more favorable unprotected 2026 first round pick via their own or the Milwaukee Bucks.
Queen appeared in three Summer League games for the Pelicans, averaging 14.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 27.1 minutes.
