With just three games remaining for the Boston Celtics, they have nearly completed a highly successful regular season. The Celtics are currently second in the Eastern Conference behind the Milwaukee Bucks and could have home-court advantage through the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs.
That is a big deal for a team that is trying to make it back to the NBA Finals after losing to the Golden State Warriors in six games. With little left to play for ahead of the postseason, Boston may look to take their foot off the gas to ensure that they are ready for their first-round opponent. That could mean that they rest their star, Jaylen Brown.
Jaylen Brownβs injury status for Bostonβs game against Toronto on April 5th.
Brown is currently listed as day-to-day with a back injury. He is also expected to be questionable for the Celticsβ game against the Toronto Raptors on the teamβs injury report.
When will Jaylen Brown play?
Brown missed the teamβs last game with a back injury. Considering that it was the first night of a back-to-back during the final week of the regular season, the Celtics may have been sitting Brown to avoid him logging big minutes on consecutive nights. If he canβt play on Wednesday against the Raptors, he could very well play against them on Friday instead.
Bostonβs full injury report
Joining Brown on the injury report are Payton Prichard and Danilo Galanari. Pritchard is listed as day-to-day with a heel injury, while Galanari is still recovering from an ACL injury that has cost him almost all of the season.
Boston Celticsβ upcoming games
The Celtics are currently three games back of the Bucks and two games ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers in the East standings. That means that they are unlikely to finish with the top seed in the East, and the 76ers have little chance of overtaking the Celtics for the second seed.
As a result, Boston doesnβt have to go all out in their final three games and can afford to be cautious with Brown. Here are the Celticsβ final regular-season games:
Wednesday, April 5th, Toronto, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, April 7th, Toronto, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 9th, Atlanta, 1:00 p.m.
Overall, Celtics star Brown appears to be questionable for the teamβs game against the Raptors.
