Steph Curry Says There's Clarity At Top Of Roster But 'A Lot Of Decisions' To Make Over Summer

Steph Curry reiterated his excitement over the Golden State Warriors building a championship roster with Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler on Wednesday.

“Our contracts — me, Draymond, Steve, Jimmy — are all two years [more],” Curry said. “And we want this ride to last as long as possible. But it’s just about what does this team need for next year, answering those questions over the summer … I’m excited about it because there’s clarity [to the top of the roster], although there are a lot of decisions that need to be made over the summer.”

Curry added that he was set to return to the Warriors lineup had they made it to a Game 6 against the Wolves, and that he still believed that the team had a title run in them this year.

“Disappointed for sure,” he said. “We’ll imagine and believe that we could have won everything had we been healthy. But you move on.”

The Warriors went 23-8 after acquiring Butler. Steve Kerr also admitted that Butler was “compromised” after suffering a tailbone bruise in Game 2 against the Wolves.

“The biggest change that needed to be made was we needed someone like Jimmy Butler,” Green added about potential offseason moves. “And we made that change. I think the hardest part is done.”

The Warriors will focus on upgrading the role players around Curry, Green, and Butler this offseason.

The team could also move Jonathan Kuminga in a sign-and-trade deal.

Curry then stated that he looks forward to what the team could do with a full training camp together.

“It was a seamless fit. Me and him complemented each other so well. He gave us so much belief that we could beat anybody any given night and make a legitimate run at climbing up the standings and even having some playoff experience to look forward to.”
