In a recent episode of The Athletic NBA Daily, NBA insider Sam Amick said the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns haven’t had any recent trade talks involving Kevin Durant. Amick had previously reported that Houston had made a “firm offer” for Durant. That offer is considered to be the best Rockets GM Rafael Stone will make for the veteran forward.
On Friday’s episode, Amick reported that things haven’t advanced at all between Houston and Phoenix.
“I was told yesterday that Houston hadnโt talked to Phoenix since last week, and that call didnโt go particularly well,” Amick said. “That could have changed by now, again thatโs as of yesterday. They would love to have KD, but itโs on their price.”
The Rockets are one of three team that Durant would prefer a trade to. The others are the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors and LA Clippers are other teams that have engaged Houston in trade discussions involving the 37-year-old star.
