Rich Paul: LeBron James 'Supportive' Of Lakers On Luka Doncic Timeline; No Trade Or Extension Discussed

LeBron James is understanding that the Los Angeles Lakers are pivoting to prioritize the timeline of Luka Doncic and there have been no discussions about a trade from the team. Chris Haynes relayed a recent conversation he had with James’ agent, Rich Paul, in which their camp’s position was explained following his decision to exercise his $52.6 million option for the 2025-26 season with the Lakers. James is “supportive” of the Lakers’ efforts to build around Doncic while they get younger, according to Paul.

“There has been no trade discussions, there has been no trades talks with the Lakers,” said Haynes on NBATV. “There has been no trade talk. There has been no extension talk. He’s clearly opted in and wants to win. He believes the Lakers have what it takes to maximize Luka’s timeline. But also to maximize and prioritize his timeline. That’s what Rich Paul made clear.”

James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists with a PER of 22.5 last season. James was an All-NBA Third Team selection last season.
