The Week 6 NFL schedule opens with a primetime matchup between the San Francisco 49ersย (2-3) and Seattle Seahawksย (3-2) on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff at Lumen Field in Seattle is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. The NFL DFS player pool for TNF is stacked at the skill positions with several high-end, proven fantasy options, mixed with young players who have shined early in their NFL careers. Should daily Fantasy football players include veteran stars like Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf and George Kittle in NFL DFS lineups? Or should you include breakout players like Jordan Mason or Jaxon Smith-Njigba in your Thursday Night Football DFS lineups or NFL DFS stacks?ย
Even at 32 years old, Tyler Lockett remains a consistent staple of the Seahawks offense and he had four receptions for 75 yards last week, so should you include him in Thursday Night Football NFL DFS picks? The 10-year veteran has more than 45 receiving yards in three straight games, so he’s certainly a player to consider when forming your NFL DFS strategy. Kaylor is a NFL and DFS expert for SportsLine, who opened the 2022 NFL season by winning DraftKings’ NFL Showdown Thursday Kickoff Millionaire contest. He edged out over 355,000 other entrants in the contest and also has multiple five-figure tournament wins on his DFS resume. Kaylor, who cashed big all season in 2022, has covered the NFL and college football for close to a decade as a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, and his background as a former college and NFL player gives him a unique perspective when building his fantasy lineups and locking in his betting picks on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.
Kaylor hit on epic NFL DFS picks for SportsLine members throughout the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2022, he was all over Travis Kelce’s four-touchdown performance against the Raiders on Monday Night Football, Kirk Cousins‘ 460-yard, four-TD performance on Thanksgiving Day, and T.J. Hockenson’s 13 catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns in Week 15. In 2023, he hit on Ja’Marr Chase’s massive Week 5 performance (15 catches, 192 yards, three TDs), D.J. Moore’s eight catches for 230 yards and three touchdowns in Week 14, and De’Von Anchane’s breakout performance (233 total yards, four TD’s) in Week 3. Anyone who followed his picks is way up.
This season, in the Sao Paulo game one of Kaylor’s top picks was Green Bay wide receiver Jayden Reed, who caught four passes for 138 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 33 yards and a score, and James Cook, who scored three touchdowns on Thursday Night Football against the Dolphins.ย
Now, Kaylor has turned his attention to 49ers vs. Seahawks on Thursday Night Football in Week 6 and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks.ย You can only see his picks and analysis at SportsLine.
Top NFL DFS picks for Seahawks vs. 49ers
One of Kaylor’s top NFL DFS picks for Thursday Night Football is 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The 28-year-old only had one reception for 11 yards on three targets and three carries for nine yards last week, but the 49ers offense was far from perfect in a 24-23 loss to the Cardinals. Samuel had more than 50 yards in each of his first three games, averaging 74 receiving yards over those contests, and Kaylor expects a more typical 49ers successful offensive performance on Thursday.
Samuel had seven receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing touchdown in last year’s final meeting against Seattle. He’s averaging 120.3 receiving yards over his last three games against the Seahawks, including six receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown in the 2022-23 playoffs. Brock Purdy has looked for Samuel often, especially in games against Seattle, and Kaylor expects that trend to continue on Thursday Night Football.
Kaylor is also targeting Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had his first touchdown of the season last week and has 19 targets over his last two games. The second-year receiver has become a more significant piece of the Seattle offense this season, averaging eight targets per game compared to 5.5 targets per contest last season.
The Seahawks selected Smith-Njigba with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft as the first receiver off the board. That was largely due to his breakout sophomore season when he led the Big Ten in receptions (95) and receiving yards (1,606). A hamstring injury derailed his final college season but he’s shown his big-play ability at the NFL already. He has at least one catch of 15 yards or more in three of five games this season and given the 49ers are sure to focus much of their defensive attention on containing Metcalf, Smith-Njigba could be in line to be a significant value at his price for NFL DFS lineups.ย See who else Kaylor likes right here.
